Climbing Kilimanjaro is not very difficult most days as the slopes are not the highest, but the summit night is very difficult as this is the coolest and hottest part of your trek. Elevation 4,084 feet with 49% oxygen below and an inclination of approximately 6,870 feet. It can take up to 12-14 hours on foot.

A common question that we are asked all the time and that we see a lot on various forums: is it difficult to climb Kilimanjaro? The answer to this question is a bit complicated as it depends on many factors and is very personal.

Because what is “difficult” for one person can be “easy” for another. And the fact that something is difficult doesn’t make it more satisfying?

Many people said “Kilimanjaro is the hardest thing to do, especially on a busy night”… and then they did it again and again. We haven’t met anyone who thinks it’s “easy” yet, but it always depends on what you compare it to.

Compared to Everest, Kilimanjaro is “easy”.

Compared to beach trips, it is “difficult”.
