Casual, comfortable and easy-to-wash clothing is recommended. Aim to pack light, as most lodges and campsites will do your laundry for a small fee. Safaris are informal and you don’t have to dress up. Dress in layers so you can adjust to temperature changes as morning safaris can be quite cold depending on the time of year while daytime temperatures can be quite high. Wear neutral or khaki colors and avoid wearing dark blue or black clothing as these colors tend to attract flies such as tsetse flies. Wide brimmed hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, bug spray are a must. When it’s dark, it’s recommended to wear long pants, long-sleeved shirts and socks, and a bug repellent spray to avoid mosquito bites.
