Tanzania Safari & Zanzibar Beach Escape – 6 Days
Discover the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation in this 6-day Tanzania safari and beach holiday. Start your journey with thrilling game drives across some of Tanzania’s most iconic wildlife parks—Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara—where you’ll witness the Big Five and other incredible wildlife. Then, trade the savannah for the sea as you fly to the tropical paradise of Zanzibar to unwind on white-sand beaches beside crystal-clear waters. This tour offers a seamless blend of nature, wildlife, and island relaxation.
Your adventure begins the moment you land in Tanzania. You’ll be met by your professional safari guide at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport. After a warm welcome and briefing, you’ll drive to Tarangire National Park—a scenic 2–3 hour journey through the Tanzanian countryside.
Upon arrival, you’ll enjoy your first exciting game drive in the park, which is famous for its high density of elephants, ancient baobab trees, and a large variety of wildlife. Keep an eye out for lions, zebras, giraffes, and even leopards. Tarangire is also a paradise for birdwatchers, with over 500 bird species.
After breakfast, depart Tarangire and journey towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, one of the most iconic wildlife destinations in Africa. The drive takes about 2.5–3 hours, passing through Maasai villages and rolling highlands.
Today you’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a massive volcanic caldera that’s home to an astonishing concentration of wildlife. Often referred to as “Africa’s Eden,” the crater floor hosts the Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhino) in a relatively compact area. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater surrounded by zebras and gazelles.
Return to your lodge or camp on the crater rim in the evening, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the caldera at sunset.
Today, you’ll head to Lake Manyara National Park, located at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Though smaller than other parks, Manyara is known for its diverse ecosystems, ranging from groundwater forests to acacia woodlands and the alkaline lake itself.
During your game drive, look for tree-climbing lions, hippos, large troops of baboons, and rich birdlife including pelicans, storks, and flamingos. The views of the Rift Valley and lake are stunning, especially during golden hour.
After breakfast, transfer to the Arusha Airport for your scheduled flight to Zanzibar (approximately 1.5 hours). On arrival at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport, you’ll be greeted and transferred to your beachfront resort.
The rest of the day is yours to relax on the beautiful white sand beaches of Zanzibar. Take a swim in the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, sip fresh coconut juice, or enjoy a spa treatment at your resort.
Wake up to the sounds of the ocean and spend your day at leisure. You can simply relax on the beach or choose from a range of optional activities (not included in the base package):
Spice Tour – Discover the aromatic spice farms that give Zanzibar its nickname, “The Spice Island.”
Stone Town Tour – Explore the UNESCO-listed historical center with winding alleys, markets, and Arab-Swahili architecture.
Snorkeling/Diving Trips – Visit Mnemba Atoll or other nearby reefs to experience Zanzibar’s vibrant marine life.
Return to your resort to watch the sunset and enjoy a peaceful evening under the stars.
Enjoy your final morning in Zanzibar with a relaxed breakfast and maybe one last swim in the ocean. Depending on your flight schedule, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your international departure or onward travel.
