Begin with a pick-up from Kilimanjaro Airport or Arusha, and drive to Ndutu, where you’ll experience unparalleled wildlife, including the “Big Cats” and newborn wildebeests. Enjoy a picnic lunch within the park. Continue with more game drives, exploring the incredible landscape and spotting the diverse wildlife. Relax at your permanent tented camp after a hearty dinner, and reflect on the day’s adventure. Perfect for wildlife enthusiasts, especially those keen to witness the magic of the calving season!
After breakfast, you’ll embark on a full-day game drive in the Southern Serengeti, specifically the Ndutu region. This area is well known for its rich wildlife, especially during the calving season from December to April. Lake Ndutu, although alkaline, supports a diverse ecosystem, with many animals relying on its waters. You’ll likely encounter large groups of wildebeests, elephants, various bird species, and predators roaming the plains. In the evening, you’ll head to your accommodation on the Ngorongoro Crater rim for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay at Rhino Lodge. Just a short distance from the crater, Rhino Lodge offers an ideal base for exploring the wonders of the Ngorongoro Crater.
Afternoon: Stop at the picnic site for the lunch at 1:00 Pm
Evening: Return to your lodge or tented camp for your relaxing dinner
After breakfast at 6:00 AM, you’ll depart from the lodge for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The two-hour drive takes you to the Ngorongoro gate, where you’ll embark on a full-day game drive within the crater, enjoying a picnic lunch along the way. In the late afternoon, we’ll return to Arusha or head to Kilimanjaro Airport, marking the end of the safari.
Ngorongoro is a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its rich biodiversity and stunning landscapes. Inside the crater, you’ll have an excellent opportunity to spot the Big Five—lions, buffaloes, elephants, leopards, and the rare black rhino. The area also offers incredible birdlife, including flamingos around the crater lakes.
