Safari in Tanzania is more of an adventure than a vacation. That means you have to be very careful about the type of clothes you want to pack. An important item on your packing list is the type of shoes you wear. So, if you are planning to go on a safari alone, have you ever wondered what are the best shoes for safari in Tanzania and with Limited High Peak Expeditions?

The best shoes for an African safari are hiking boots. Most hiking boots are lightweight, durable, and can be worn for everything from light climbing to trekking. The hiking boots scored very well on all safari criteria and were excellent for safaris. We’ll cover what type of shoes you should wear when you come to Tanzania and some factors to consider when choosing a pair.

Things to consider when choosing shoes for a safari in Tanzania, when choosing shoes for an African safari, there are a few things to consider:

Flat: Heels are inappropriate when going on an African safari in Tanzania. You will spend a lot of time in the car and walking on uneven surfaces. We think this is the best way to get a sprained ankle, so avoid it.
Closed: The selected shoe type must be closed. The main reason is that sometimes you have to walk through the streets of Tanzanian city, sometimes dusty or muddy. Read our clothing recommendations for Tanzania for more information. Closed-toe shoes also protect your feet from mosquitoes.
Thick soles: This is especially important when walking or hiking in the bush. Most Tanzanian savannas have plants with sharp spines an inch or two long. If you have thick-soled shoes, stepping on them will not hurt you.
Breathe Well: The type of shoe you choose should breathe well. An average day in Tanzania has a temperature of 20-30℃ depending on where exactly you go. If you sweat a lot, you will feel very uncomfortable if you have a pair of shoes that don’t breathe well.
Durable: It’s unlikely to walk on paved surfaces all the time, meaning rocks or tree roots will occasionally trip over them. The shoes you wear should be strong enough to withstand multiple runs without breaking.
Easy to clean: As I said, you don’t walk on many paved surfaces and your shoes are dusty or muddy. Therefore, wear shoes that are easy to clean with a damp cloth.
